I'm using EF5 Code First and I'm dead in the water on a bug that apparently will not be fixed in EF5. The bug (#481) has to do with abstract entity base classes causing problems with NotMapped base properties not able to be ignored in derived classes. All of the 'suggested' issue workarounds did not work for me.
A post on the MS EF forums seem to imply that there is a code fix to System.Data.Entity.ModelConfiguration.Mappers.TypeMapper class that was in the EF6 code base that maybe can be applied to EF5 that will fix my problem.
My options are limited. I did try the latest EF6alpha and it works, but I cannot go into production with an alpha of a key component. It seems like seeing if I can patch EF5 is a lot less risky.
I'd appreciate any advice on how I can download and build EF5 RTM and try out this patch to get around my problem.
